The 2010 Rosso di Montalcino is gorgeous. Dark red cherries, tobacco, flowers and sweet herbs flesh out beautifully in this deep, resonant Rosso. I very much like its power and richness, but both those elements are nicely balanced by the vibrant acidity that is the calling card of Sangiovese. The round, creamy finish leaves a lasting impression. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
